Community Philanthropy Investor Circle

Community foundations have been making local impact investments for decades, but a shared practice is just now emerging. Starting in fall 2020, LOCUS began convening community foundation local impact investors to network, share stories, and strengthen local impact investing practices for the community foundation field.

Below, register for our upcoming Circle conversations and download our resources from past discussions.

When Investments and Programs Don’t Succeed:
Understanding and Preparing for Failure
The Community Philanthropy Investor Circle is a practice group of community foundations committed to embracing the role of community investor. Foundations participate in Circle Conversations to explore local impact investing, share learnings to advance effective and equitable practice, analyze data on their work and its outcomes, and grow an active and engaged community of peers. The success of the group would mean more community foundation assets move back to communities, creating the rooted resources needed to reinvest in communities that work for all.
