Stakeholder and Expert Interviews
Approximately 40 interviews were completed. Their purpose was to: (a) gain affirmation (or otherwise) on the value and relevance of the project in the research, policy, and practice arenas; (b) obtain perspectives on framing, elements to be included or taken into account; (c) invite recommendations for examples of regional efforts, other people to interview, additional literature to be reviewed, and potential venues for disseminating the project’s findings; and (d) raise awareness of the project.
The stakeholders and experts were diverse in backgrounds and perspectives, and their insights ranged from the broadly philosophical to the very practical. The discussions were organized into the following set of themes that informed the crafting of the selection criteria for regional efforts to be investigated and for designing the fieldwork protocols.
