Bobby Thalhimer brings a broad range of experience to LOCUS. Professionally, Bobby served for 16 years as Senior Vice President for Philanthropic Services at The Community Foundation. In that capacity, he worked with hundreds of donors to frame their charitable thinking and develop funds that would carry out their plans. Prior to joining The Community Foundation, Bobby served as Executive Director of the Science Museum of Virginia Foundation and Deputy Director of the Science Museum of Virginia. During that time, the museum completed a $36 million capital campaign in just three years and grew its endowment from $600,000 to $11 million. He orchestrated the initial capital campaign for the new Danville Science Center, raising $1 million in the local community. Bobby also brings with him broad experience serving on nonprofit boards, having served as President of the William B. Thalhimer, Jr. & Family Foundation, President of the Richmond Memorial Hospital Foundation, and as a member of the Richmond Memorial Hospital Board of Directors. He now serves as Chair of the Finance Committee of their successor, the Richmond Memorial Health Foundation.
Bobby graduated from Williams College with a major in Economics, and he received his MBA from University of Richmond. Bobby is also a graduate of Leadership Metro Richmond.
